CHINHAE, Republic of Korea – The Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Bremerton (SSN 698) arrived in Chinhae, Republic of Korea, March 16 for a visit as part of its Indo-Asia-Pacific deployment.

“I’m often asked to describe what sets Bremerton apart as a classic,” said Cmdr. Wes Bringham, commanding officer. Bringham added the answer is simple - the best boat, regardless of age or equipment, this is the most dedicated, talented and professional crew. It has been his pleasure to serve with this best crew in his twenty years of naval service.
The last time that Bremerton visited Chinhae was in 2013. This year, the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) submarine Na Dae Yong (SS-069) hosted Bremerton and coordinated a multitude of activities for their American guests.
“The last time we played the local team in an intense soccer match,” said Fire Controlman Technician 3rd Class Alejandro Alonso. “Unfortunately, we lost 3-2, but I could tell both teams thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I’m looking forward to a rematch!”
Measuring more than 360 feet long, Bremerton is one of the stealthiest and most advanced submarines in the world. This submarine is capable of supporting a multitude of missions including anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface ship warfare, strike, surveillance and reconnaissance.
