The commanding officer (CO) of the Guam-based fast attack submarine USS Oklahoma City (SSN 723) was relieved of his duties Jan. 6 due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command.
APRA HARBOR, Guam (NNS) -- The commanding officer (CO) of the Guam-based fast attack submarine USS Oklahoma City (SSN 723) was relieved of his duties Jan. 6 due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command.
Cmdr. Mike Conner was removed from his position by Capt. Jeffrey Grimes, Commander, Submarine Squadron 15, based at Polaris Point, Naval Base Guam.
Conner, in command of Oklahoma City since December 2013, has been administratively reassigned to the staff of Commander, Submarine Squadron 15, at Polaris Point, Naval Base Guam.
