To enhance the patient experience, the MHS asks its beneficiaries to rate their care and patient experience. Responses are reported quarterly and annually in the JOES Best of the Best reports which contain the top-performing clinics, providers, clerks, and receptionists, each broken out by primary care and specialty care.

“Our patients are recognizing the care our providers exhibit every day,” said Cmdr. Daniel Hammer, a maxillofacial oncologist and reconstructive surgeon at NMCSD. “One hundred percent of patients who responded stated they were completely satisfied with the care provided.”

The JOES is a survey that is administered by the Office of the Surgeon General. The survey focuses on how the provider communicated with the patient, a patient's access to care, cleanliness of the facility and courtesy of the staff.

“To qualify for this award, at least ten patients had to respond to the survey,” said Hammer. “For some of our providers, over 50 patients responded in this manner. That is an incredible feat.”

DHA officials explained that the 100 percent satisfaction reports are updated quarterly and list all the clinics, providers, clerks and receptionists that received at least 10 responses with 100% patient satisfaction.

“It is a great honor for our providers to be recognized by their patients,” said Hammer. “I am honored to serve alongside each of them and I’m proud that these NMCSD providers are the standard bearers.”

NMCSD's providers who received 100% patient satisfaction on the JOES survey are:
