NBG Teen Center Reopens

NAVAL BASE GUAM (April 12, 2024) - U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) Commanding Officer Capt. John Frye cut the official ribbon to kick off the reopening of the NBG Teen Center, April 12.
NAVAL BASE GUAM (April 12, 2024) - U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) Commanding Officer Capt. John Frye cut the official ribbon to kick off the reopening of the NBG Teen Center, April 12.
Also cutting the ribbon were Installation Child and Youth Program Director Brittany Marini, Youth Director Samantha Nucum, Teen Coordinator Bobbie Jean Penafiel, and Military Youth of the Year NBG Representative Josiah Moss.

The NBG Teen Center suffered extensive damage after Typhoon Mawar ravaged the island in 2023.

At present the center has 66 actively enrolled teens.

The Teen Center provides a space with activities and programming tailored to teens’ interests and needs that focuses on education support and career development, character and leadership development, health, wellness, and life skills, the arts and leisure and other recreation activities.
