The city of Los Angeles welcomed more than 600 Sailors and Marines for Los Angeles Fleet Week 2023.
The city of Los Angeles welcomed more than 600 Sailors and Marines for Los Angeles Fleet Week 2023.

"Thank you for hosting our armed forces for Fleet Week 2023," said Rear Adm. Robert Chadwick II, Commander, Carrier Strike Group Nine. "I can assure you our Sailors, Marines Coast Guardsmen, and Soldiers salute the incredible residence of this city. Over the next several days, Over 600 uniformed men and women will be throughout the area. They will be doing community projects throughout your neighborhood, and they'll be out there creating new memories and, hopefully, a lot of new friends."

LA Fleet Week is an annual, multi-day celebration of our nation's Sea Services held on the LA Waterfront at the Port of Los Angeles over the extended Memorial Day Weekend.

"It's great to join you all in celebration of Los Angeles Fleet Week this Memorial Day weekend," said Karen Bass, mayor of Los Angeles. "This is our opportunity to learn about the incredible technology and vessels that protect our shores. To meet the Marines and Sailors who serve our country, thank you to everyone for making this possible. Fleet Week celebrations have begun, including tours of active military ships, military band performances across LA, and neighborhood celebrations in San Pedro, Hollywood, and downtown LA."

LA Fleet Week is being held May 22-29, 2023. Ships in attendance include the Littoral Combat Ship USS Cincinnati (LCS 20) and the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Princeton (CG 59).

It is an opportunity for the American public to meet their Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard teams and experience America's sea services. During fleet week, service members participate in various community service events, showcase capabilities and equipment to the community, and enjoy the hospitality of Los Angeles and its surrounding areas.
