NAVAL BASE GUAM (April 19, 2023) – U.S. Naval Base Guam’s Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Information, Tours, and Ticketing (ITT) office helps patrons who are seeking unique opportunities for exploring the island.
The ITT Office on NBG was recently named Stars and Stripes Best On-Base Travel Agency for 2023, a title the office is holding the second year in a row
The program offers an array of local packages including historical sightseeing and learning tours, cultural dinner shows, snorkeling, fishing, and diving tours, waterpark day trips, and jet skiing trips.
“These packages were made to offer our service members and their families some time off for much needed relaxation and rejuvenation,” said MWR Recreation Assistant Angie Nicholas.
One of the main goals of the ITT office is to make service members and families aware of the opportunities around the island. Various island businesses offer military discounts for active duty members and the ITT office is the place to find more information.
Additionally, if a military member isn’t sure where to go, ITT recreation assistants can also make recommendations on what the ITT center offers and areas from their personal knowledge.
“Guam is a very beautiful island and a lot of what Guam has to offer can be found in the beautiful sceneries such as our beaches and hiking spots, the various local cuisines and local hospitality,” Nicholas said.
A tour favorite includes the Valley of the Latte Adventure Park experience. The day trip includes a boat tour along the Talofofo and Ugum rivers, a cultural guided tour through a simulated ancient CHamoru village, and the opportunity to view an undisturbed latte stone site.
Other packages include:
- Aquaman Fishing Charters
- Hoshino Reports Risonare Guam, formerly Onward Beach Resort
- Pacific Islands Club Waterpark
- Let’s Ride Guam
- Joe’s Jet Ski
- Fish Eye Marine Park
- Taotao Tasi Beach Dinner Show
- Big Sunset Cruise
- Guam Ocean Adventures
Deals and packages can range from $20 for a waterpark pass to $600 for a group six-hour fishing charter. The cost will depend on the type of activity. Some packages also give customers the option to add on lunch meals.
Aside from deals on local tours, the ITT office is offering a travel deal to Japan from now until July. The travel deal is exclusively available to eligible MWR customers.
“We will continue to work with the airlines and it is our hope to continue offering more travel deals just like our package to Japan, to different markets within the region and hopefully in the near future,” said MWR Recreation Assistant Pete Litzinger.
Recreation assistants also assist with the American Forces Travel website,
https://www.americanforcestravel.com.
Established in 2019, the website is a joint effort by the Department of Defense (DoD) and Priceline to offer deals for personal travel specifically for military service members and civilian Department of Defense employees.
The website offers access to a wide selection of discounted rates on hotels, airfare, rental cars, vacation packages, and cruises.
“Having access to great travel deals or tour deals on island is very beneficial for service members and families,” Nicholas said. “Traveling from Guam can also be quite costly, so we’re happy to assist service members and families in preparing for leisure travel, by helping them with the web site and trying to obtain great deals and discounts.”
The ITT Center is located inside the Charles King Fitness Center and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday. They may also be reached by calling (671) 989–2301. Eligibility is open to active duty service members and their dependents, retirees, and DoD civilians.
