NAVAL BASE GUAM (Oct. 3, 2022) – Customers now have more options for payment methods at several Navy Exchange (NEX) Guam stores following the completion of Point-of-Sale (POS) system upgrades.

The improvements are part of Navy Exchange Service Command’s (NEXCOM) efforts to streamline services throughout all NEX stores worldwide. The upgrade is meant to enhance the overall customer in-store shopping experience and checkout efficiency.

“The upgrades bring quicker transaction times than the previous system among other benefits,” said NEX Guam General Manager Lisa Ballejo. “The new POS XStore system is now chip enabled and has options for Apple Tap-to-Pay, Samsung and Google Pay capabilities. It also offers customers the option to print or email receipts.”

All NEX Guam retail associates have been assigned online learning, as well as hands-on training as part of the transition.

POS system upgrades will temporarily be delayed at these specific NEX Guam grocery locations due to scanner scale equipment delays:

• NBG Mini Mart/Gas Station

• Apra View Mini Mart

• Naval Hospital Mini Mart/Package Store

• Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) Mini Mart.

These locations are expected to resume their upgrades in mid to late November 2022.
