The 2021 Workplace and Gender Relations (WGR) Survey is now online and Active Duty and Reserve service members are being highly encouraged to share their thoughts and opinions in order to find solutions to these problems.
“Our Sailors are our most important resource, and I am committed to the health and well-being of every Sailor in our fleet,” Adm. Mike Gilday, chief of naval operations, wrote in a letter that was sent to Sailors across the navy, inviting them to participate in the WGR survey. “This is your chance to add your voice to work we are doing to improve the lives of every Sailor.”
While officials wants to learn of any negative situations a Sailor has experienced, senior leaders said they equally want to learn of positive experiences where Sailors felt protected and valued at their commands.
Other topics covered in the survey include Sailor perceptions of gender equality, command climate issues, and resilience.
“To compete and win in war, we need to constantly increase our operational readiness,” said MCPON Russell Smith. “That’s why I encourage all Sailors to take this survey – to help me and your commanders build a better fleet.”
Data from the WGR Survey will help inform the improvement and development of military policies and programs that impact Sailors across the fleet.
This 2021 WGR survey period is open until March 3, 2022. Sailors can log into DoDSurveys.mil and enter their ticket number they received by mail—or a DoD ID number.
Leaders are encouraging every Sailor to take the survey and say that their feedback may change the future of the Navy.
