After extensive and careful planning, staff members assigned to Information Warfare Training Command Monterey Detachment Goodfellow have officially begun modernizing the Navy Analysis and Reporting Course (NARC). After extensive and careful planning, staff members assigned to Information Warfare Training Command Monterey Detachment Goodfellow have officially begun modernizing the Navy Analysis and Reporting Course (NARC).

The staff began the modernization process by restructuring the course over six blocks of instruction and including four new capstone events that will have a direct impact on reporting and analysis fleet-wide.

Chief Cryptologic Technician (Collection) Morgan Griffin, NARC course supervisor, is overseeing the process, with Cryptologic Technicians (Collection) 1st Class Tyler Turner and Cody Anderson, both NARC instructor supervisors, leading the modernization process.

“I am genuinely excited to see what our subject matter experts are planning to include in the course re-write, while remaining aligned with fleet requirements,” remarked Griffin. “Student feedback, partner service analysis, and reporting courses have given us a wealth of information to guide our efforts.”

“On average roughly seven percent of the rating comes through this schoolhouse every year,” said Turner. “We absolutely owe it to these Sailors and to the fleet, to ensure the methods and materials being used here are the best and most effective available.”

The Navy Detachment on Goodfellow Air Force Base has been training Sailors for 52 years since its establishment in 1969. From its inception as the Navy Communication Training Center Detachment, the leaders of the detachment have strived to provide current, accurate, and relevant training. IWTC Monterey Detachment Goodfellow is aligned under IWTC Monterey as part of the Center for Information Warfare Training domain.
