EVERETT – Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG 86) returned to its homeport of Naval Station Everett, Washington, November 21.

While on deployment Shoup supported the Oceania Maritime Security Initiative (OMSI) and participated in Valiant Shield 2018.

Shoup’s crew proved their combat effectiveness during Valiant Shield 2018, demonstrating their ability to conduct joint operations with the U.S. Air Force.

"I am extremely proud of our Sailors' accomplishments and their commitment to victory in the mission throughout a demanding deployment," said Cmdr. Andy Strickland, commanding officer of USS Shoup. "We are excited to rejoin our community, especially our loved ones."

Commander, U.S. Third Fleet leads naval forces in the Pacific and provides realistic, relevant training necessary for an effective global Navy.
